Spring Summer
Fashion Trends 2013 Part 1
Fashion
trends are cycles of style that bubble up from society and filter down from
international designer catwalk shows. Each
season these influences grace our shelves and stores. This is the first part of my Style guide on the must have trends of SS 2013.
The 1990's revival began bubbling into fashion about 5 years ago. It has since become stronger and many of this seasons trends take influence from the 90's decade.

TREND: Midriff
This is the skinny girls must have trend. However the look is also accessible to less svelte waistlines if tailored to flatter your body shape. Below are this years Midriff key trend pieces and the Style Guide's way to wear them.
The cut out dress:
This replaces the body con dress for an all out sexy look. Unless have the figure to compliment I strongly suggest to stay clear of midriff exposure and body con.
For those less than ab-fab.. Look for mesh or lace panels and higher cut out shapes to flatter. Dresses pictured above are high end labels the first is Cushnie et Ochs and second is Carven, a brand which can be found in Les Jumelles Abbeygate Street Galway.
The Bralet:
These are a little longer and more detailed than bras. Wear with high waisted trousers or skirts. Mix prints on prints. Wear beneath something transparent.
DO NOT wear and expose stomach if you can pinch more than an inch (either side) !
The bralets below are from Motel a brand stocked in one of my favorite stores Public Romance Abbeygate Street Galway or on line at Motelrocks.com

Midriff bearing t-shirts, tops, blouses and sweaters are a more casual take on this trend. I love these casual crops with tailored ankle skimmed trousers.
Below are available from Topshop. The Galway branch located in Edward Square has extremely helpful staff and the on line store is pretty amazing.
