 Sunglasses styling

Aviators
Made by Ray Bans in 1936 for the U.S. military these metal framed tear drop lenses are as popular as ever. A safe and stylish purchase. Aviators suit most shaped faces

Butterfly
Are most sunglasses not some sort of butterflyshape? Some more gaga than others? Butterfly shape in sunglasses terminology describes square frames indented at temple. I like these pradas. Butterflies will suit round diamond or an oblong shape face.
Cats Eye
These frames became fashionable during the 50's worn by Audrey Hepburn in Truman Capote's film Breakfast at Tiffany's Cats eyes scream fashion conscience, These are a pair from Tom Fords collection 2011. Will suit triangle and square shape faces.
Goggles
These are definitely a case of function over fashion. Worn for extreme sports as they are durable, lightweight and secure without letting in any light through sides or top. They don't really suit anyone IMO!
Oval
As it says on the tin..oval shaped lenses vary in size and shapes I like these converse heritage ones, as they are not to big or not too small and curve nicely at temples. This shape will suit a lot of mugs especially diamond square faces.

Over sized
Affiliated with the first lady Jakie O. Instantly retro and instantly
stylish.Oversize sunnies are a personal favorite, great if feeling the need to cover up as much of your face as possible. Not suitable for smaller faces.

Shutter shades
An 80s trend these work on the principle of decreasing (as apposed to deflecting) the amount of light that gets in. Unless come with additional lenses have very low protection from UV rays. Revitalised through clubbing trends in last few years. Would suit hipsters or twats.

Rectangles
Very of the moment stay these are 2011 Men's Polo Ralph Lauren. in my opinion unless over sized look better on men than women. Suit round shaped face.

Round/ aka Tea shades
Made famous by John Lennon and  Ozzie Osborne, these wire framed round lenses are based on the 18th century shape glasses. Worn for aesthetic reason more than purpose. Would suit an aspiring rock and roller or those with short hair.

Rimless
These have a different frame structure than regular glasses. The lenses are secured at the bridge and temples. These are a popular stylish choice. Often worn for sports. They suit triangle, diamond faces, dark complexions and those with curly hair.

Wayfarers
Designed by Ray-Ban in 1952 with plastic black lenses and frames. Very on trend at the moment with coloured frames. Suit most faces

Wraparounds
Modern futuristic look with minimal frame. These often have a single semi circle lens ( also can have 2 lenses). Worn for sports they suit most but look especially good on oval faces.
